We look forward to welcoming all students to a new school year this week. We understand that some families need to use a car to come to school. Some students have a long way to school and others are being delivered by their parents on their way to work. We also have many children who come by bus, bike, scooter or by foot. Some run, some come whizzing by on their scooters and bikes. As many children come at nearly the same time, the traffic situation outside the school can be busy in the mornings. It is therefore important that we all show consideration and patience when driving near the school.

We like to remind students and parents to always double check that cars are actually stopping for the red light in time. Do not start running as soon as you see the green man!
Respect signage around the school We kindly ask parents to respect the signage around school and to not park in front of the main gate. We need to be able to open this gate at all times to let emergency vehicles enter the playground if needed. Drop off / Pick up Zone (do not leave the car) Please note that parking is not allowed in the drop off/pick up zone right outside the school gates. (Red line on the picture below) It is permitted to drop off/ pick up children in the zone, but parents must not get out and leave their car and walk their children into school. The car is also liable to be fined by the parking wardens if one parent leaves the car to walk their child into school and the other parent waits in the car. Parking (5 minutes) There is parking (bolig soneparkering) in parts of Bispegate and Sverresgate (marked in orange in the picture below). The Trondheim parking authorities allow parents to park there for a very short period between 07:30-08:30 and 14:00-16:30– just long enough to escort your child to the classroom. Parking (>5 minutes) If you intend to stay and talk to the teacher, or to other parents, then you must pay the required parking fee. (Green squares on the picture)
