The day had finally arrived for the children of Year 1 to showcase everything they had learned throughout the last couple of weeks in their unit: The Magic Toymaker.

Unit Summary: The Magic Toymaker

In The Magic Toymaker, we learned all about the world of toys and the role that they play in entertaining us, educating us, and stimulating our imagination. As historians, we found out about the ways in which toys have changed over time; as scientists, we explored the various materials that toys are made of; as designers, we learned about the different stages of the toy-making process and creating our own board games; and as programmers, we covered the basics of computer game coding. Toys come in many shapes and sizes, but what is it that makes a great toy?

Exit Point: The Magic Toymaker

The excitement in the air was palpable as parents gathered at the Exit Point, eager to see what their children had been working on. The children presented their projects and skills, from handmade crafts to science experiments, each child eagerly showed off their hard work to their parents.

One by one, parents approached the different stations, asking questions and engaging with the students. It was heartwarming to see the bonds forming between parents and children as they discussed their projects and shared stories about their learning experiences.

The IPC Exit Point not only served as a platform for the children to showcase their learning, but also as a catalyst for building a strong sense of community among the parents.
