Christmas Plays & Charity Fundraisers

Writer's picture: Mr WilcoMr Wilco

We are looking forward to the upcoming Christmas performances!

As always, there will be no admission fee for the school plays. However, this year, we will politely request a voluntary donation at each performance for a worthy cause related to the theme of the Christmas Play you are about to enjoy. The students themselves have discussed and chosen the cause they find worthy.

Year 5 are performing the play Madagascar Jr. They would like to support the World Wildlife Fund,  the leading organization in wildlife conservation and endangered species. Parents are welcome to make a voluntary donation through this link: www.spleis.no/year5

Year 3 are performing The Pied Piper. They would like to support Plan Norge. Plan Norge works for children's rights, both long-term and through emergency aid. Parents are welcome to make a voluntary donation through this link: www.spleis.no/year3

Year 6 and 7 are performing Robin Hood and will be supporting the poor through Redd Barna (donation link coming soon).

Setting up a play requires a lot of time and effort from everyone involved, but the rewards for both teachers and students are well worth it. As a token of the school’s appreciation, staff normally receive a small gift after the play. This year, instead of this gift, staff has requested the school to rather donate the amount normally spent to the charity associated with the specific performance.

We thank both parents and staff for their generosity. We appreciate your support and thank you for helping us bring about positive change in the world!
